Welcome to ESP

The Government of Denmark and Indonesia have agreed to prepare a second phase of the Environmental Support Programme (ESP) started in January 2008 and will run up until end of 2012. The first phase of the programme was implemented in 2005 - 2007 by the Agency for Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (BAPEL), the Ministry of Environment (KLH), and Ministry of Planning (BAPPENAS).

About ESP

After the publication of the Danish Environmental Strategy for Environmental Assistance to Developing Countries 2004-2008, Indonesia and Denmark agreed to initiate an Environmental Sector Programme Support in 2005.
 
This Programme with a budget of 90 million DKK has been implemented in the period 2006-2008.

The overall objective of Danish bilateral development assistance is poverty alleviation. An effective reduction of poverty is a precondition for a stable and sustainable global development.
